History of Genseiryu, The first years.

Postby Peter Lee » Friday, 17 July 2009, 05:16

Hi there. Osu!

As you all may know, a lot of discussion has existed for a few years, since 2001 I believe, about the origins of Genseiryu, the documentation of various claims etc. I have conducted a lot of research on the subject myself, and I continue to do so even now on a day to day basis. But no matter how much research is done, there may always be subjects, which have not yet been touched or simply is beyond the researchers knowledge that this or that also need to be researched. Therefore, i hereby request anyone out there, who may have any direct or indirect contacts to someone in any organization with knowledge of the first years of Genseiryu. The possible subjects for research could be alive students or instructors from the first years of Genseiryu's establishment. In particular the years from 1952 and ten years ahead or even up until 1965. Of course research in more recent years is also welcome, but I would like to concentrate this thread on the first 10 years starting with 1952. You can either post your information and source here, or you may send me a private message with a link, e-mail address, real address, dojo name etc. of where the person or organization can be contacted so I may direct my research there. If you know of any books, videos, interviews or similar, please also let me know so I may include this information into my research.

Especially people of the following organizations are of interest and may have important information to be researched in regard to the history and origins as well as the spreading of Genseiryu:

Ryounkai
Genwakai
Keneikai
Nippon Karate Budo Kyokai
Seidokai
etc......

The Genseipedia offers a great deal of information in various languages already, but many pages include the same repeated information or in some cases the information needs further researching and/or information about sources, citations etc. I am not looking for information which is already put there, but I am looking for someone else to either confirm the facts or to do the opposite. It is my goal to find the true history as it happened, rather than having a lot of doubtful opinions and speculations floating around out there.

If you have doubt, whether to contact me or not, then please contact me, just in case. You have some very important information, but because you don't contact me, the information may never be included in the research or writings of the history. So please let me decide the importance, and please don't think that what you have, may already be something I know. I might already have that information, but you may have the information from a different source, or your information may include some detail that I never heard before. So, please contact me, no matter what information you may have, also if you are sure I already have it. There more information I can gather, the more trustworthy the article. Thanks.

Please help as much as you can, and if you have any information, please either reply to this post, send me a private message or if you prefer, add the information to the pages of Genseipedia yourself. I believe this goal is a common goal for us all, or at least it should be. Thanks.
